On Friday, a delegation of 25 American students from top U.S. universities visited the Shenzhen New Media Building in Futian District, which houses the Shenzhen News Group Global Communication Center, and the office of EyeShenzhen, the city's official multilingual info portal (www.eyeshenzhen.com).

Following a presentation on EyeShenzhen, many members of the delegation noted EyeShenzhen's value as a platform for learning about Shenzhen.

Liam Rinehart, a senior at the University of Southern California, was impressed by his first-time encounter with the website. He highlighted the website's attractive segmented layout, which offers a wide range of news, stories, and various types of information.

"The EyeShenzhen website is a very good tool for foreigners who try to figure out their ways around Shenzhen. EyeShenzhen would be my primary resource for future visits to the city," he said.

Expressing an interest in staying connected with Shenzhen through EyeShenzhen, Anthony Xu, from Harvard University, views the platform as an important tool for foreigners navigating the city.

Moreover, Xu stressed the pivotal role of the Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassador Program in cultivating emotional connections with Shenzhen. He highlighted the meaningfulness of the communication ambassadors in providing personalized insights and believes that this approach promotes a deeper understanding and mutual exchange within the city.

Launched by EyeShenzhen in June last year, the Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassador Program has extended invitations to expats with a keen interest in Shenzhen's urban development, a commitment to fostering Shenzhen's global presence, significant professional expertise, and notable community impact. These ambassadors are encouraged to share their experiences of living in Shenzhen and their observations of the city.

The students, invited by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-United States Exchange Foundation as part of the Sino-U.S. Bridge Program, are visiting China from June 7 to July 6.

Before ending the Shenzhen leg of their tour yesterday, they toured the Nanshan Energy Ecological Park, BYD, OCT-LOFT, and the "Great Tides Surge Along the Pearl River: 40 Years of Reform and Opening Up in Guangdong" exhibition.

They left for Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian Province, yesterday.
