The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued a city-wide yellow alert for high temperatures yesterday, with projections indicating that temperatures will soar to 35°C or higher.

Expected to last three or four days, this heat wave has prompted the observatory to advise residents to take proactive measures to prevent heat-related illnesses and limit outdoor exposure.

Data indicate that all the city's meteorological monitoring stations had recorded temperatures in excess of 30°C at 8 a.m. yesterday. The National Basic Meteorological Monitoring Site in Shenzhen recorded a peak temperature of 30.6°C, while the highest temperature of 32.5°C was recorded at the Antuo East Monitoring Site in Futian District.

From today to Saturday, expect sunny, hot, and humid weather with occasional clouds and regional showers. Starting from Sunday, the weather will be cloudy.

Subtropical high pressure is expected to strengthen and move westward and northward, resulting in continued high temperatures during the day.

Residents are advised to reduce outdoor activities. Those who work outside in high temperatures for long periods of time should take precautions. High temperatures can create unstable atmospheric conditions, so residents should be mindful of potential heavy rain, thunderstorms, and sudden gales.
