A new cold front is set to sweep through Shenzhen, bringing temperatures down to approximately 15 degrees Celsius from Friday through Tuesday.
The cold front is expected to impact northern Guangdong Province starting today.
Around Friday, there will be scattered light rain in Shenzhen accompanied by wind gusts reaching Level 6.
Following the recent relatively high temperatures, this sudden drop will notably chill the air, increasing susceptibility to colds among residents. Consequently, the city's meteorological authority urges citizens to take precautions and keep warm.
In response to the anticipated weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Management has activated a Level IV emergency response for low temperatures and snow in provinces including Anhui, Henan, and Hubei. This activation has led to the closure of some 190 road sections across 18 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions.
