The Metro Line 8 Phase II project has recently entered the test run phase, which involves non-passenger operations for over 20 days in accordance with regular service patterns, marking a step further before its official operation.
Metro Line 8 Phase II is scheduled to welcome passengers before the end of the year, according to Shenzhen Metro Group. It will be Shenzhen's first direct subway line to Xiaomeisha, allowing residents to take the subway to the seaside.
Phase II starts at Yantian Road Station, running 8 kilometers and terminating at Xiaomeisha Station.
When operational, it will significantly reduce travel times between Yantian and central parts of the city like Luohu, Futian, and Nanshan districts.
During the test run period, the section will not be open to the public and passengers must get off upon arriving at Yantian Road Station.
