THIS Wednesday marks the Chinese Lantern Festival. Coming next to the Spring Festival in time, this traditional Chinese festival falls on the 15th of the first lunar month, with the bright moon signifying for family reunion and hopes for a fresh start.

Combining fashion, tech and intangible cultural heritage elements from Zigong, Sichuan Province, dozens of lantern sets depicting flower fairy, snake, butterflies and more, are adorning Huaqiangbei and Xiangmi Park in Futian District.

These innovative displays not only celebrate traditional festivities but also showcase modern creativity, making the surroundings vibrant and inviting.

Visitors can also make traditional handicrafts at an event at Huaqiangbei on Wednesday.

Here, Shenzhen Daily photographer Lin Songtao captures the beauty of the Huaqiangbei pedestrian street, famous for its electronics markets and now lit up by dazzling lanterns.
