Workers are busy preparing for the 2025 Shenzhen Spring Festival Flower Fair on Festival Avenue in Futian District yesterday.
As the Chinese New Year approaches, highly anticipated Spring Festival flower markets are returning to districts across the city, bringing festive cheer with a blend of tradition and innovation. Running from Jan. 16 to 28, Spring Festival eve, the markets will offer a variety of flowers, New Year goods, and interactive cultural experiences, creating a vibrant atmosphere to welcome the Year of the Snake.
Luohu District's Aiguo Road Flower Market, a hallmark of Shenzhen's Spring Festival celebrations since 1982, remains one of the city's most iconic destinations. Open from Jan. 22 to 28, the market will feature nearly 300 stalls, including 180 selling fresh flowers. Visitors can also explore areas dedicated to food, cultural products, calligraphy couplets, and festive gifts, as well as a pet-friendly zone.
In Futian District, the 2025 Shenzhen Spring Festival Flower Fair on Festival Avenue, open from Jan. 22 to 28, will combine traditional New Year goods with modern twists, such as pet-themed and Chinese-style products.
Bao'an District will host two major flower markets this year. The Xinqiao Flower Market, running from Jan. 16 to 28, will feature flower stalls, snack booths, and New Year goods. Meanwhile, the BREWTOWN Flower Market, from Jan. 22 to 28, will showcase a blend of traditional and contemporary items, including handcrafted souvenirs, kumquat trees, and regional delicacies.
In Yantian District, a flower market will take place at Yantian Central Park from Jan. 22 to 28. Visitors will find flowers, kumquat trees, and traditional candies in this scenic setting.
Guangming District will set up a main venue for its flower market at the Maxland shopping mall, with subvenues throughout the district from Jan. 22 to 28. The markets will feature fresh blooms, local specialties, and agricultural produce.
From Jan. 22 to 28, Longgang District's Shenzhen Universiade Center Flower Market promises to be a festive hotspot. Attractions include a giant "Lucky Snake" installation, over 200 stalls, and traditional performances such as the Chaozhou Yingge Dance and lion dances. Evening activities, including bonfire camps, outdoor movies, and fireworks displays, will keep the celebrations alive after dark.
In Longhua District, the Minzhi Flower Market will run from Jan. 19 to 28 and feature 132 stalls offering flowers, New Year goods, and festive decorations.
In Dapeng New Area, flower markets will run simultaneously from Jan. 22 to 28 at multiple locations, including Kuichong Park, Dapeng New Market, and Nan'ao Moon Bay Plaza.
