An official ceremony was held in downtown Futian District on Wednesday evening to unveil a tourism campaign, inviting people to explore Guangdong, engage in the region's distinctive cultural traditions, and experience an authentic Chinese New Year.

Tourism ambassadors from 21 cities in the province, including teenage Olympic diving champion Quan Hongchan from Zhanjiang, presented the exciting events awaiting visitors across Guangdong. Visitors can soak in hot springs, savor Cantonese dim sum, revel in lion dances, and attend flower fairs.

The ceremony featured live performances of traditional Chinese music, a dragon dance, and a snippet of "Wing Chun," along with an illuminated drone showcase. Residents were invited to engage in interactive activities featuring intangible cultural heritage at a fair held at the venue.

As part of a province-wide initiative to stimulate consumer spending, the campaign provides various discounts and vouchers, including travel subsidies, ride-hailing discounts, and prize giveaways leading up to and during the Spring Festival, which falls on Jan. 29 this year.

Shenzhen Daily photographers Liu Xudong and Lin Songtao offer a sneak peek into the campaign launch ceremony.
