The topics "#Shenzhen people have their own way of getting rid of job burnout#" and "#100 small things to restore energy in Shenzhen#" have topped the local "hot search" list on Chinese social media Sina Weibo recently.

This surge in popularity is attributed to the resurgence of group orders for art-related courses, a phenomenon that is quickly becoming a cultural staple among locals, Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

Launched by the Shenzhen Cultural Center, this art initiative encourages residents to take the lead in cultural enrichment by independently initiating courses through the "Shenyitong (深艺通)" WeChat miniprogram.

This platform offers free participation in 10 course categories, including vocal music, musical instruments, dance, sports, art, languages, aesthetic lifestyle, intangible cultural heritage, cultural innovation and creativity, and traditional Chinese studies. Details regarding group size, venues, and schedules will be finalized through a process of review.

Public enthusiasm is palpable, as many are eager to participate in this initiative. Many participants have actively shared their experiences under the trending topics.

One netizen's story of participating in a cloisonné enamel course has resonated widely. Cloisonné is a decorative technique in which colored glass or enamel is applied to a metal object, typically copper, to create intricate and detailed designs.

"I am very lucky to have enrolled in the cloisonné enamel course! Through the process, I achieved a state of flow and found a way to heal in lines and colors. I hope to discover more free intangible cultural heritage courses next year," the netizen shared.

Others praised the Shenzhen Cultural Center for its diverse offerings, with one comment likening the classes to "a beam of light" in their busy lives.

The innovative initiative has not only captivated local residents but has also sparked interest and envy from netizens in other cities who have left comments such as "Shenzhen people are so good at living!" and "This kind of life is really desirable."

Since its inception, the initiative has seen over 20,000 registrations, successfully launched 90 classes, and attracted more than 1,000 residents to join various groups, according to the center.

The convenience of the courses, with locations ranging from office parks to community service centers, has made art education more accessible than ever.

The program is part of Shenzhen's broader effort to promote art for all, with Zeng Chang, curator of the center, inviting all sectors of society to contribute to this cause.
