Introduction to the Park Featured attractions

Situated in the Shenzhen International Bio Valley, Baguang Heritiera Wetland Park covers an area of about 0.96 square kilometers. The park preserves the original appearance of the ancient villages and forests and practices the concept of "prioritizing ecology and its protection." It also respects the current ecological conditions of the site to the greatest extent, and makes minimal modifications to the park, thus restoring the original ecological texture and providing possibilities for future natural growth.

The park is divided into the south and north zones. The north part is the main theme area and includes three parts: cultural landscape, leisure and entertainment, and wetland ecology. The south part mainly consists of the Yanzao Reservoir and greenway. There is a 3.3-kilometer-long greenway surrounding the reservoir, creating a natural oxygen bar. After its magnificent transformation, Baguang Heritiera Wetland Park, like a dazzling pearl embedded in the Greater Bay Area, has become the ecological name card of the Shenzhen International Bio Valley, an internationally renowned coastal wetland park and Shenzhen's high-end reception hall.

Yanzao Ancient Village reflects 300 years of Hakka history. More than 90 buildings of the ancient village have been preserved and 33 of them serve as museums, which vividly demonstrate the Hakka culture and its mangrove history.

Behind the ancient village lies the Heritiera Littoralis Conservation Zone. It is thus far the most complete and oldest natural ancient Heritiera littoralis community in the world, with an average age of about 100 years. One of the trees is more than 500 years old, and nearly 30 trees are more than 200 years old. It is home to more than 50 species of wild birds. You can explore the ancient forest by walking along the hanging plank road.
