Introduction to the Park Featured attractions

Zhongshan Park, located in the center of Nanshan District in the west of Shenzhen, is adjacent to Nantou Middle School and Nanshan Boulevard, covering an area of 490,000 square meters. It is the oldest and the only park in Shenzhen named after Sun Yat-sen.

A large Sun Yat-sen sculpture is built in Zhongshan Park. The sculpture was overseen by national renowned sculptor Qian Shaowu, who used natural features and historical and cultural relics to create the sculpture. The stone statue is 10 meters high and 27 meters wide, with the head using an 88-ton block of granite, making it the largest Sun Yat-sen head sculpture in the nation. Eight groups of local celebrity statues from Shenzhen are also scattered over the park's central lawn.

Zhongshan Park is also home to an ancient city wall from the Ming Dynasty. It is also the site of the monument to the martyrs of the Neilingding Island Liberation. The park is a popular leisure area with gardens and historical sites.
