Park label:
The western section of Shenzhen Bay Coastal Leisure Belt spans from the mouth of the Central River to the Nanhai Hotel, measuring a total length of 6.6 kilometers and occupying a land area of approximately 300,000 square meters. It was completed and opened July 3, 2017. The park is connected by 11 scenic nodes, including the Jacaranda Square, Maritime Surveillance Square, Lighthouse Square, Fishing Pier Boardwalk, and Nuwa Square. It is renowned as the most beautiful urban coastline, seamlessly linking with the eastern section, forming a 16.2-kilometer-long "urban ribbon" that winds along the Shenzhen Bay.
The park is divided into four areas from east to southwest, named D, E, F, and G. Along the route, several parks, piers, squares, and greenways are interconnected, enhancing the natural landscape of the city and creating distinctive landscape themes.
Section D is a "natural park" with a picturesque view of the sea and sky. Upon entering the area through the Central River Mouth Bridge, visitors can experience a beautiful large lawn area, featuring a gracefully curved and gradually transitioning steel tube arrangement in the Central River Mouth Gallery Bridge. There are also exquisite horticultural gardens that showcase the city's changing skyline as a landscaped garden.
Section E is an intricately arranged "ecological corridor." This section takes on a bay-like form and is adjacent to Shekou Mountain. It incorporates small-scale architecture and pedestrian systems, making it an essential ecological corridor in which the mountainous terrain meets the bay area.
The "Lighthouse Square" in Section F features a white lighthouse that preserves the original structure of the site, hinting at its former navigational function. This square is connected to the adjacent commercial and leisure pedestrian street, serving as a vibrant landmark within this area.
Section G, known as the "Fishing Pier Boardwalk," focuses on local fishing industry infrastructure such as indigenous fishing practices, boats, and docks. It has been developed into a distinctive and unique boardwalk showcasing Shekou's indigenous fishing culture. This includes the Fishing Pier Boardwalk, Shekou Garden, Pier Park, and other scenic areas that highlight the unique characteristics of the local fishing culture.
