In response to citizens’ general concerns for atmospheric and water environment problems, Shenzhen is firmly improving environmental quality with strong intent. In 2020, PM2.5 in Shenzhen decreased to less than 20 mg per cubic meter for the first time. In the first half of this year, the air quality composite index of Shenzhen ranked sixth among 168 key Chinese cities. So far, the air quality in Shenzhen has stabilized at the second-stage standard of WTO.
