After 40 years of development, Bao'an District has transformed into a high-end, intelligent manufacturing hub and an economic powerhouse. Additionally, the district is a vibrant cultural and tourist destination with a history spanning over a thousand years. Acknowledged as the "cultural source of Shenzhen and Hong Kong," Bao'an boasts over 7,000 years of human activity. As of May 2023, Bao'an houses 248 immovable cultural relics, the highest number among the districts in Shenzhen.

Fenghuang Ancient Village

Fenghuang Ancient Village, located in the Fenghuang Community near the Fenghuang Mountain, has a history of 700 years. With 69 buildings built during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, 12 temples, 12 ancient wells and 12 ancient trees, the village is the ancestral home and residence of the Wen Clan, the descendants of the national hero Wen Tianxiang, and stands as one of the largest and best preserved ancient villages in Guangdong Province.

North Deity Ancient Temple

Built in 1537 and refurbished in 1828 and 1994, the North Deity Ancient Temple was established to worship the North Deity in Chinese religion, one of the cosmological "Five Forms of the Highest Deity." The North Deity is also identified as Xuanwu or Zhenwu. By virtue of his association with the north, he has been identified and revered frequently as a representation of the supreme God of Heaven. Every third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, folk events like the Sanyuesan temple fair and pun choi feasts are held. Pun choi, meaning "basin cuisine," is a Cantonese dish served in large wooden, porcelain or metal basins and consumed communally.

OH Bay

Situated in the core area of Qianhai, OH Bay is a new complex that organically integrates the topography of the bay and green space, city and nature, culture and vitality, and leisure and business, to serve as another OCT masterpiece in the wake of OCT Harbor.

OH Bay has many landmarks such as its Bay Glory Ferris wheel that offers a 360-degree view of scenery of the Qianhai Bay and the stunning sunset. It is the world's fourth-largest cantilevered observation wheel, joining the ranks of global landmarks such as the Ain Dubai, Singapore Flyer, London Eye, and Melbourne Star.

Together with 270,000 square meters of parkland showcasing waterfront culture, two coastal experiential commercial areas on the east and west coasts, office buildings and corporate buildings, a high-quality coastal resort has sprung into being where life, work, entertainment and leisure are fully integrated. This adds another poetic, green, and ecologically viable asset to the landscape, as Shenzhen harbors ambitions of ranking among the world's most beautiful coastal cities.

It also connects the Shenzhong (Shenzhen-Zhongshan) Link, a world-class cross-sea project that started operation this June.
