On Jan. 26, Luohu District unveiled its "Low-Altitude Economy Ten Measures" and inaugurated the Wutong Cloud Bus "Mountain Top Line" at Wutong Mountain Scenic Area, marking a significant step forward in the district's embrace of low-altitude technologies for tourism and economic development.
The "Low-Altitude Economy Ten Measures" outline a comprehensive strategy to foster the growth of the low-altitude economy in Luohu. The district aims to achieve this through eight key actions, including attracting and cultivating market players, strengthening low-altitude infrastructure, establishing low-altitude consumption centers, pioneering cross-border Shenzhen-Hong Kong flights, demonstrating low-altitude cargo transportation, enhancing low-altitude urban governance, boosting innovation and development capabilities, and promoting coordinated development of supporting industries.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the "Flying Wutong" eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft sightseeing project, a collaboration between the Cultural, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Luohu District and Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. This project will offer visitors a unique aerial perspective of Wutong Mountain, Shenzhen Reservoir, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, and other scenic attractions within the Greater Wutong Ecological Integration Zone.
Another key development was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Shenzhen Xiantong Cultural and Sports Industry Operation Co. and Shenzhen Boling Pengchengzhiyi General Aviation Co. to establish Luohu's first urban air traffic operation center. This center, expected to be operational by the end of 2024, will enable passengers to embark on immersive low-altitude sightseeing tours using eVTOL aircraft, showcasing the district's stunning natural beauty and urban landscape.
Moving forward, Luohu plans to actively explore low-altitude tourism, develop eVTOL passenger sightseeing, and vigorously introduce and cultivate immersive cultural tourism, wellness, high-end hotels, and boutique homestays in the Greater Wutong Ecological Integration Zone. These efforts aim to transform the district into a cultural tourism destination in the Greater Bay Area and contribute to Luohu's development as an international consumption center core zone.
