Shenzhen Bay Park in Nanshan District on Saturday began piloting a drone food delivery service offered by e-commerce food delivery platform Meituan.
With this service, citizens can receive their orders via drone in as little as 10 minutes while enjoying the North Bay Harbor views at Shenzhen Bay Park.
The route starts at the Coastal City shopping mall, which is approximately two kilometers away from the North Bay Harbor.
Situated in Zone A of the park, the North Bay Harbor serves as one of its main entrances and exits and has one of the seven parking lots at Shenzhen Bay Park. This area experiences a high influx of people each day, including numerous citizens and tourists who come to observe birds and the sea there.
Previously, it took customers more than 50 minutes to have their products delivered to the areas surrounding North Bay Harbor.
According to the city's urban management authority, this route marks the fourth drone delivery route introduced in Shenzhen's parks.
