Poznan is located in the plain of the Warta River basin in west-central Poland. The city covers an area of 261.3 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 600,000. It is the economic, scientific, cultural, and financial center of the Greater Poland region, as well as one of the most economically dynamic areas in Poland.
It became a sister city of Shenzhen on July 30, 1993.
