Barcelona is located in the northeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula along the Mediterranean Sea, and is Spain's second-largest city. Shenzhen signed an agreement with Barcelona on July 16, 2012, to establish a friendly exchange city relationship. After years of pragmatic cooperation, the two cities signed the Sister City Relationship Agreement on Nov. 22, 2021.
