Saint John is located in the Bay of Fundy area of New Brunswick, Canada, and was established in 1785. The city contributes one-third of the province's gross domestic product and is the largest city in New Brunswick, serving as a primary port, a base for light and heavy industry, and a commercial and financial center. It is also a trade and business hub for the Atlantic region of Canada, as well as a key distribution center for paper, food, beverages, and agricultural and industrial products. It became a friendship city of Shenzhen on Oct. 12, 2005.
