Montreal is the second-most populous municipality in Canada. It's also the world's second-largest French-speaking city after Paris. Located in the southwest of Quebec, Canada, the city covers 431.5 square kilometers. The Montreal Light Festival is one of the largest winter arts festivals in the world, attracting approximately 1 million local residents and international visitors each year. In 2016, Shenzhen was the guest city for the 17th Montreal Light Festival, marking the first time an Asian city was chosen as the guest city of honor for this festival. Montreal became a friendship city of Shenzhen on Nov. 4, 2015.
