The City of London, often referred to as the economic center of the United Kingdom, is recognized as one of the world's three major financial hubs alongside Wall Street, earning the title of the "Global Economic Powerhouse." It is home to over 500 foreign banks and more than 180 foreign securities trading centers. In October 2004, Shenzhen signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen communication and cooperation with the City of London.
