The 18th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair kicked off at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District yesterday, drawing exhibitors from 51 countries.

The fair has brought together industry leaders from around the world to explore the latest logistics and supply chain advancements. With almost 100,000 square meters of space in 14 diverse exhibition areas, the three-day event includes 2,000 exhibitors from 51 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania. Countries like Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, and Indonesia are making their first appearances. Postal administrations from 13 countries have also joined the event.

Expecting about 260,000 visitors from around the world, the fair serves as a platform for industry players to delve into the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies, and strategic opportunities within the sector.

Special forums focused on market penetration into Mexico and Thailand have been organized to support Chinese companies in expanding their global presence.

During the fair, the Global Cross-border Logistics Service Standard Alliance will be launched. The alliance will promote standardized practices in cross-border e-commerce logistics, according to the organizer, the Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association.

With over 300 international exhibitors representing various sectors, including leading companies in port and shipping, railway and road transport, comprehensive logistics and supply chain management, and cross-border e-commerce logistics, the fair promises a diverse range of insights and innovations.

The backdrop of the fair is set against Shenzhen's remarkable progress in logistics and transportation infrastructure. Official data show that Shenzhen’s container throughput had reached 23.28 million TEUs as of Sept. 15 this year, a year-on-year increase of 14.13%.

Shenzhen's advancements extend to unmanned cargo drone operations, with an impressive 350,000 low-altitude unmanned cargo drone flights recorded from January to August this year. The city now boasts 131 low-altitude logistics transport landing points and 212 unmanned cargo drone routes, further establishing its position as a leading hub for cutting-edge logistical solutions.
