From Dec. 4 to 6, citizens will be treated a taste of the French art of living at the “Art de Vivre a La Fran?aise” (“French Art of Living”) exhibition to be held at G&G Creative Community in Shekou, according to a press conference held at the Shenzhen Furniture Association in Nanshan District on Nov. 20.

Initiated and organized by Business France of the Embassy of France in China, “Art de Vivre a La Fran?aise” gathers top French brands with rich histories and cultures in furniture, decoration and banqueting. Since its inception in 2008, the exhibition has toured to different cities around the world, including New York, Moscow, Los Angeles, Istanbul, Shanghai, Chengdu and Beijing.

G&G Creative Community in Shekou saw the beginning of the development of Shenzhen 40 years ago and is a dynamic and international area today. “The factory was rehabilitated by the French architect, Denis Laming, which is a very good example of a place that combines modernity and heritage,” said Mélanie Gaudin, director of the Department of Fashion, Lifestyle, Healthcare and Beauty of Business France.

For this edition, Business France has partnered with the organizer of Shenzhen Creative Week, a key player in the furniture and interior design industry, to expand the event.

“The first city in China to receive the official title of UNESCO City of Design in 2008, Shenzhen has always played a major role in the development of design in China. We are therefore very happy to be in partnership with Shenzhen Creative Week on this event, which we are sure, will be able to give visibility to the entire Greater Bay Area,” said Gaudin.

Altogether, 20 exhibitors will attend the exhibition, some of which attended the last edition. Most of the brands have obtained the label of EPV (Living Heritage Companies), a label that testifies to ancestral know-how. Additionally, a series of conferences, workshops and roundtables will be organized throughout the exhibition with different partners, including Shenzhen Creative Week, the Francéclat Committee, Heather & March, Lalique and Legrand. Legrand will give a talk on smart home and connected home.
