Alisa Weilerstein
U.S. cellist Alisa Weilerstein will present Bach’s “Cello Suites” No. 2, 4 and 6. In 2004, Weilerstein graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Russian history. In 2006 she was awarded the Leonard Bernstein Prize at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. In 2011 she received a MacArthur Foundation “genius grant.”

Dang Thai Son
Vietnamese-Canadian pianist Dang Thai Son will present six of Debussy’s “Preludes,” Schubert’s “Piano Sonata in C Major” and Chopin’s “Barcarolle, Op. 60,” “Bolero, Op. 19,” “Rondo a la Mazur, Op. 5,” “Ballade No. 1, Op. 23” and three waltzes Sunday. Before the concert, he will give a master class on how to play Chopin’s pieces Saturday. The master class will be in English with Chinese interpretation.
Dang was the Gold Medalist of the 10th International Chopin Piano Competition in 1980. He has received particular acclaim for the sonority and poetry in his interpretations of music of Chopin.
