Acclaimed Chinese musical “Into the White Night,” starring versatile actress Han Xue and adapted from Japanese novelist Keigo Higashino’s bestseller “Journey Under the Midnight Sun,” will be staged soon.
“Journey Under the Midnight Sun” is renowned for its meticulous plot and complicated characterization. A pawn shop owner is murdered, but due to a lack of conclusive evidence, the police list the man’s death as a suicide. At the same time, a detective begins to suspect a girl and the pawn shop owner’s son. In the following 19 years, more mysterious deaths are surrounding the girl and the son.

“Journey Under the Midnight Sun” is a mystery novel first serialized in a monthly novel magazine from 1997 to 1999. The entire volume was published in August 1999 and became a bestseller. The novel attracted three adaptations in Japan, including a stage drama in 2005, a TV series in 2006 and a movie in 2010.
Han started her acting career in 2003, mainly in TV series, and has released seven albums. With a clean and intellectual image, Han has appeared in a string of entertaining TV programs in recent years, showing off her acting and voice acting abilities and her knowledge in science.
